Modern Shade
Project 1
This project features Somfy motorized roller shades with clean white fabrics to complement this home's modern design. 3% screen material was used to cut down on UV and heat from the sun while allowing natural light inside the home.
- Somfy motorized roller shades
- 3% screen fabric
Installation applications include mounting of shades inside custom recessed ceiling pockets, and surface mounting with an exposed roller shade to the window framing (as seen in the kitchen). An exterior awning shades the BBQ and outdoor seating areas.
Project 2
Featuring Lutron automated shadings, both battery and hardwired, this project is all about the install. Special care was taken to design these shades to fade away when raised. This is done by matching the shade hardware to the window frames' color while also following the cornering of the window framing.
- Lutron automated shadings - battery and hardwired
- Custom installation
- 1% screen fabric
This can be mostly seen in the kitchen, where minimal profile boxes were chosen and custom miter cut 5 times to follow the unique window design, making one continuous housing for 6 motorized shades. The 1% screen fabric used is a charcoal color to cut down on glare while also blocking UV rays and heat.
Project 3
This project utilizes the most common combination of fabrics for privacy and shading in all the right places. This includes room-darkening fabrics for the areas needing privacy, like the bedrooms or heavily exposed areas, and 5% screens for the common areas.

- Lutron automated shadings
- 1% screen fabric and 5% screen fabric
Lutron motorized shading allows all of the unreachable great room clearstory windows to be controlled with the push of a button.
Project 4
This project demonstrates the benefits of planning for shades even before beginning construction. Window and door headers were moved to allow the hardware and roll shades to recess into the walls, dramatically lessening or completely eliminating their projection into rooms and hallways for a completely integrated look.
- Automated Crestron roller shades, drapery tracks, and Roman lift kits
- Hunter Douglas shades
Automated Crestron roller shades, drapery tracks, roman lift kits, and a few Hunter Douglas shadings provide all the shade and privacy this home will need.
Project 5
High-end Lutron QS wired shades were perfect for this unique and modern home. Like this well-thought-out, uniquely designed home, the master bath shadings demonstrate the same creativity by using 3 different hardware applications. On the window to the left, you see a white hardware inside mounted to complement the white wall adjacent to it.

On the sliding glass door in the center, we recessed the 3 on 1 shade into the ceiling with a closure piece to hide the roller, making this shade and any hardware completely disappear when in the raised position. On the right, we drilled tunnels through the concrete wall to pull wire for the shade and used black hardware to house it, matching the window framing and complementing the industrial look of the concrete.
Project 6
Utilizing StruXure Outdoor’s Pivot 6 system, as well as Rainier exterior shades, we were able to design a functional outdoor living space. We worked closely with the homeowners to understand how they wanted to use the space and designed the system to complement that.
- StruXure motorized louvered roof system with an Integrated 360-degree gutter system
- Rainier exterior shades at 95% opacity
With fully operable louvers that pivot 170 degrees and the addition of two Rainier exterior solar screens, our clients are able to enjoy their StruXure at any time of day with guaranteed solar protection.
Project 7
With a focus on maintaining the spectacular views of Paradise Valley, as well as the integrity of the modern-industrial design of this home, this minimalistic look was achieved with a 5% solar screen and decorative metal brackets to blend seamlessly into the window framing.
- Crestron motorized shades powered by Cresnet
- Crestron Decor metal brackets
Solar screens are a great solution for any area of your home with a beautiful view to maintain while offering the highest level of light, sun, heat, and UV protection. Selecting Crestron allowed for seamless control and integration of the shades onto the home’s Crestron system.
Project 8
Lutron motorized shadings were utilized here to showcase the true beauty of the Sonoran Desert throughout this home’s expansive window walls. Thoughtful planning went into this home’s design throughout the building process to allow for a space for the shades to be installed seemingly out of sight. Our skillful installers custom-cut every head box for a seamless finish and tight corners.
- Lutron Sivoia QS wireless motorization with Clear Connect RF Technology
- 5% solar screens throughout, with blackouts added in the master bedroom for privacy
We were able to accommodate the various door and window openings scattered throughout by breaking up the panels and adding additional motorization to allow for those panels to operate independently if they are ever to be used.
